I just read the Gizmodo article. It's the EPB fiber optic service, which we just switched to a while back. We don't have that crazy speed, obviously, but I'm very happy with the performance. I think it might be a skootch smoother and faster than Comcast (that's who we had before).

Anyway, nice to see my town mentioned someone (even if some of the commenters in that Giz piece have their heads up their ass and are showing their true snobby colors...)

Shouldn't Verizon FiOS be somewhere NEAR the top speeds? their best is 50 Mbps dl & 20 Mbps ul costing $139.95. Their 2nd tier is 25 Mbps ul/dl costing $64.99 (includes phone, $69.99 w/o). Can I just get two of tier 2?

Seriously, is that even a reasonable cost? Why is FiOS so slow here? Why does tier 2 have better ul than tier 3 and cheaper w/ phone service!

Retired 8 years ahead of schedule.
