i go there every once in a while when i need apple stuff. how about u guys? i'm just curious if the guy standing next to me is someone from this forum, someone i discuss with on regular basis.

I go there occassionaly. I much preferred the old store. While it is a good service place I have found them to be not so different from most apple resellers/dealers/technicians.....and that's arrogant. Add to the fact that many of the older employees at tekserve are the arrogant "old school mac" crowd. It's unique crowd of overweight middle aged men with salt and pepper beards who think 9500 and 9600s are the last great macs.

But they are the best repair shop in town.

I like Tekserve's service a lot better that the SoHo store's. Their employees seem to be devoted Mac users who care about their customers. The employees at the Apple Store SoHo, especially the ones who work at the Genius Bar, are a joke. They all seem to be hipsters who have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.

Where else could I get my Newton's repaired when Apple stopped supporting them?



Hell, I even worked there for a week, but took another job for resume reasons.

I gotta agree with Nut, the old store was so much better. But to compete with SoHo they had to add a theater area and focus more on sales and less on repairs.

But they've still got the Coke machine.

who were u? lots of new people working there all the time it seems, but the oldies are still around though!

They worked on my wife's iBook while we were attending MWNY 2002. While installing Jaguar it locked up the HD and had to be replaced. It is still running strong today.
