My MacBook is saying that my battery is not connected despite it being so. My LED on my powercable is green, my battery symbol has an x through it, and coconut battery says my current battery charge is -1 mAh, and the maxiumum battery charge is -1mAh.

My battery loadcycles is set to -1, it says my charger is connected, but it says my battery is not charging.

I haven't used my mac in about two weeks and it has been sitting in a drawer unplugged. Could this account for that?

Hmmm, google search reveals a big time problem with no real solution. I've just reset the PSU and that didn't fix the problem.

Same problem here. Someone posted a similar issue a couple of weeks ago and none of us knew of a real fix. But unplugging then replugging the magsafe makes the icon change to charging (as it should be).

linkage to similar thread.

If it's not red and showing substantial musculature, you're wearing it wrong.

If you look at your battery, you may find that it has exploded. That's what happened to me, and apparently to a lot of others too.

What does that look like, exactly? I didn't really look at it in too much detail, just the contacts for the most part. Any specfic characteristic I should be looking for?
