I just noticed software update jumping up and down. There's a software update for iPod and iPod Nano that introduces a way to set a volume limit, and also fixes some bugs.

Here's the description of the volume thing. I can't find the list of bug fixes, though.

Actually no update since 2002 has affected my iPod.

Affect? This is an added feature. You don't have to set the limit.

In other words, I've seen many fancy features in iPod software updates, but none update my brickPod. This volume update is only for the latest models (5G & nano). I guess at this point I'm glad I don't have to worry about the firmware being changed on my iPod as it's worked fine for me for years, and seeing an actual update for my iPod version would make it difficult not to press the Update button.

I was surprised to see when they added the Podcasts feature to my mini, and actually released a bug fix for something later.

This story and the Apple v Apple law suit both made the front page of the BBC website; simultaneously I might add. There's always an Apple related story on the BBC technology website; an editor there must be a big fan.
