Does anyone know of a good program to buy that allows me to make users to upload files to my site?

um... OS X?
Really hard to answer without more details.
Where is your site hosted?
What operating system does that computer run?
Do you already use FTP to upload your files?

Who is your host? IF you can add users for this, it would likely be done through the command line. A shared host like Dreamhost would allow you to create separate users, but you would not be able to have each user "See" each other.

This wouldn't be configured via a program on your physical computer; rather a feature of your webhost.

Now if you are not in a shared webhosting environment, this information won't apply. But yeah, give us a little more info, and we can help more.

I'm sorry. I did a really awful job of describing what I'm looking for.

I want something that can be loaded onto my site that would allow people to upload files to it. Kind of like vBulletin with forums, except it would be for files.
Basically, I have clients in other states that need to get files to me. I want to be able to have them upload files to my site without me giving away my FTP name/password. Having them log in under something like a PHP program and upload the file would be preferable.

I am on Dreamhost. Is this possible there?

There's also Php File Navigator. I wasn't super impressed with it, though. I used a script by Invision that I loved, that was discontinued.

But yeah, something like Filethingie or Php File Navigator would probably work perfectly.

pmwiki? Php based wiki that's a no-brainer to set up - has file upload built in.

However, if you're just looking to bolt-on file uploading to an existing site then one of the above two suggestions would be the ticket.

Thank you for your suggestions. I'm playing with them now. I'll be sure to post later with how things turn out.

most php ( and probably other languages ) would probably be limited on the size of the file that can be uploaded. I think the default is 4 or 8 meg. A better solution might be to see if your host supports an anonymous drop box.

OK, I have given up keeping this sig up to date. Lets just say I'm the guy that installs every latest version as soon as its available!
