I'm basically resigned to the idea that my work will get a new G5...
so, in the meantime am looking for alternatives to spice my baby up... Its a 733MHz Digital Audio (133bus, AGP 4x I think) I've seen upgrades for this thing at 1.5GHz (Acc G4 1.4ghz 2mo L3 Ddr Fastmac Pm G4 Agp Bus 100 & 133(1.5ghz) ) and then Dual 1.3GHz (Acc G4 1.25ghz (1.3ghz) Dual 2mo L3 Gigadesigns Pm Agp Bus 100Ê) They cost a boatload of money, but if work doesnt see a whole new computer, and just sees "CPU" it SHOULD pass. Is it worthwhile? Better a single or dual? I feel that given most things are single processor optimized, not much point in getting the dual... No? I'm having deja-vu and amnesia at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before. |

your always better off going for the dual. even if your only using single pro apps if you wanna run more than one programme/process the duals will allow you too whereas a single will slow you down.
though with that said, it would be wiser to invest in a G5 as there'll be supported and be more relevent than the G4's in years to come. |

I agree, always with the duals no matter what.
