...Not that I care, as I just got my new 15" MBP duo2, but since I'm a newbie, I was curious if Mac gets into the whole holiday promo thing...

If you're asking whether they'll put a machine on sale, the answer is almost certainly no. Apple doesn't get into the sale thing much.
That said, there may be some special promos on iTunes (sales on movies, perhaps), and there might be a bonus with iPods (perhaps an iTunes download card). Retailers often do an iTunes download card freebie with iPods during the holidays, so keep an eye out for that if you're looking for a deal on an iPod. |

Didn't think they would have a "sale". We get what we pay for. It would be nice to have a different incentive other than $100 off a printer. How about a free referbished video iPod with a purchase of an iMac??? That would get me to buy a 24"

They usually do a thanksgiving sale. That's about it.

Just hit Google for details on previous years. This has happened every year at least since 2002. It's mostly an offer of big discounts.

So that explains that musky odor.
As far as promotions go, local Apple resellers may have something going on. A local Micro Center, for instance, is advertising the 17" iMac for $1099* after store mail-in rebate. The offer's good to December 3rd if I read the ad right. * The academic price for the same computer, incidently. "Virtually bursting with adequatulence." |

Apple Insider ran a story the other day saying something like discounts on iPod accessories and the like would be expected; they didn't mention anything about actual iPod or computer discounts however.
