just an idea i had, to have the ipod player built into your headphones think it will happen?

Control over the unit would be an issue. The you would also get the "but it has no LCD screen" people bitching as well.

Maybe with wireless "remote"?

Of course it's gonna happen. A reliable source told me that by combining the new perpendicular HD technologies with advanced .45 micron chip fabrication methods a well known company has already gotten a 4gb drive and decoding hardware into a pair of average headphones. (HD in one side, 90% circuit in the other.)

The problem at the moment is battery life!

Also, as for the LCD screen, I believe the early prototypes actually look like a pair of glasses with the display being projected onto the inside of the lens with a micro laser.
