Hey guys ...

I have a little bit of an issue. I have a netgear mr814v2 (802.11b ... http://kbserver.netgear.com/products/MR814v2.asp ). It has worked great for the last year for XP based laptops / desktops both wired and wirelessly. Latest firmware ... no encrpyting (I use mac address filtering)

Consequently - NEW my powerbook is great - and its the first mac ive used with the router. It works great with any wired or wireless connection (free wireless on campus, shops, airport terminals) ... so I know its not the powerbook.

BUT - for some reason the two don't like eachother, and im fairly certain its the routers fault. A while back I made a post that I thought my router and itunes music store didnt work well ... but I was wrong - its really just the router and any internet site (I think that its only certain https:// sites though). When I get a problem site (such as http://ops.tamu.edu/mail , http://gmail.com , or itunes music store ) it will refuse my connection and say I dont have connection ... but after 3-4 retries ... it lets me in!? Sometimes it just lets me in on the first try, but the next time it makes me reload it saying Im not connected to the internet.

Again, I know its not the powerbook cuase I can go to campus or a friends and have no trouble (wired/unwired). My powerbook has these troubles wheather im plugged in or wireless, DMZ'ed, - as long as its on MY router, it acts screwy. My wifes Thinkpad (on XP, duh) runs great with no hitches on wireless.

So - in conclusion ... I get the feeling after all this the router doesnt like secure sites on my powerbook ... I would say its just safari, but why would it take me several tries to get into the music store and several more tries to download bought music from iTunes?

Anyone know some things I could try?

I know I could just get a new router - but i'd rather fix this one and wait a few months to get a 802.11g w/ usb 2.0 print server (since they are so new new id rather wait for some v2).

Not that anyone cares (obviously), but I think 10.3.9 did something. Works fine now. Hopefully same with Tiger.
