Welcome.
I hope you enjoy your stay. Look at it this way: are you happy with your new Mac today? If so, you've got nothing to worry about. Oh, you might want to put a little more care into proofreading (for spelling and grammar) your posts, lest you want the grammar police to chase you down. The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. The only way to guarantee thoughtful, informative discussion is to write thoughtful, informative posts. AppleNova is not a real-time chat forum. You have time to compose messages and edit them before and after posting. |

You have a great machine, and there is no way to tell when the Powerbook will go Intel so there is no point in worring about it.

At the risk of making an ass out of you and me, I assume that you are not a native English speaker. Thus, the grammar police should put their guns back in their holsters. As noted above, if you are enjoying your computer, that's the end of the story, really. Have fun. AWR |

Welcome to AppleNova.
Chips and Dip are on the left near the bar. No need to take your shoes off, since we've got a staff Roomba and a murbot to keep the place tidy and occassionally ninja'd. Check out our handy Genius Bar FAQ for obvious answers, and our nifty Search feature for less-obvious answers. If neither help, somebody here always has an answer, provided you've got the patience, sense of humour, and/or grains of salt to go with it. Please don't overfeed the trollfish. Enjoy your stay. |

::steps in, looks around:: I got a complaint about some bad grammar. Do any of you know anything about that? ::adjusts sunglasses, puts hands on hips:: No? Well, all right; just keep it down, OK?. Hm. ::turns and leaves::
Seriously, though. Welcome. Fresh meat faces are always fun. |

Yes, welcome to AN! This is a great place for all sorts of info and fun. We really love our mac's too. Wouldn't want to be seen with a Mac though. That would mean our shift key worked, we rip those off right out of the box.

I wouldn't worry about the upcoming Macintels. I got a powerbook back in June knowing full well updates were on the way, but I didn't care, as this is a great machine. I do wish I had known about the small updates (screen resolution and whatnot) that you seem to have gotten. Enjoy your new Mac.

Congrats guys, we've managed to scare off another one. It kind of makes you wonder how it was possible that all of us managed to meet at this place on teh interweb...such an interesting mix of eclectic personalities.
What I'm trying to say is, I need counseling because of all of you. Here's the rules: Don't park in my parking spot Don't eat from the salad bar, I hear the e.coli is bad this time of year BYOB, but bring enough to share The most important rule: Never take anything seriously, including yourself. If you can handle that last one, you'll do just fine here. I have to go, the murbot just rolled over my foot. Come waste your time with me |

Eclectic, huh...? That's putting it mildly.

HAHA I love these forums!
I'd say a computer like a Mac (PowerBook) would last two years, and you probably wouldnt need to upgrade unless you need a Mactel to do something a PB cant do. You'll be happy with it after Intel switch. EDIT: We KNOW it will last two years, just maybe not in the owner's opinion. Does that make sense? |
