I've done a basic search for this issue, and didn't find anything that matched what my problem is...so if there is a thread that matches what I'm looking for, feel free to festoon this thread with dancing locks and whatnot.

Basically, my Powerbook has been experiencing kernal panics whenever I have opened the lid to awaken it from sleep. It hasn't happened every time I've opened the lid, but it has happened 3 times in the past 3 days -- once on Sunday evening, once last night, and once this evening. Tried looking at Console for some answers, and I didn't find much of anything that was helpful. Ran a FSCK, repaired permissions, verified hard drive, and prepared a burnt offering...but the kernal panics are still occurring. I've even deleted a couple of widgets that I installed on Sunday evening, thinking perhaps they were to blame (Air Traffic Control widget v.1.2), but that didn't help.

So, any advice?

Guess our wishes don't do dishes or brake repairs...

Do you have the hardware test CD that came with the computer? If so, did you run the full memory check to see what it says?

Update: everything checked out OK for the quick and extensive tests on the Apple Hardware Test. Checking out other options now...

Can you post a copy of the KP logs to see what they say?

Update: This issue hasn't rearisen in the past two days...perhaps the burnt offering finally fixed it.

Thanks for all the help you've offered in any case!

Weird, maybe those hardware tests scared it into behaving.

Maybe FFL can look through those kernal panics and pick apart what's causing it. My brain is fried right now and they look greek to me.
