Think about running down to the Apple store to pick it. Box small enough to carry out and run home with?
Or do I need to look for parking and such??? |

I can't see why you'd want to carry even an iBook/Powerbook home, awkwardness/bulk-wise and also from a security standpoint. the iMac is bigger and heavier and similarly expensive. Just drive or get a cab.

The size is pretty big... you might be able to manage it if you live a block away... But the thing's HEAVY! Unless you work out at the gym for an hour every day, bring the car... It was difficult for me to carry the box from the door to my bedroom... Best bet is to bring the car, I think... |

Heavy? The flat iMac? You don't know about heavy until you try lugging a 70 lb. CRT with your 30 lb. tower up a few crowded flights of stairs.

It probably weighs enough to make it worth taking a car. The 17" should weigh around 19 pounds, but it is very large and bulky so it is not easy to carry. I have seen employees move two or three of them with hand trucks because they are very bulky, and I have never seen anybody walk through the mall with one because they are very large items.
