When do you think apple will release a blue ray drive on the powermacs?

definately third party before before apple does it on its own, besides i believe HD Drives are the next leading technology..

Sony and Toshiba recently agreed to cooperate to make one standard successor to DVD.

Good news indeed...I just feel sorry for all the Japanese early adopters that dropped a mountain of money on a Blu-ray player.

Apparently, at the 11th hour, Sony and Toshiba have entered talks to merge the two formats.
