Cheap Scanner?

Hey

Could anyone suggest a cheap scanner? My old has just broken down which was only Windows compatible, so I need to buy a new one sometime soon.

The scanner has to be OS X compatible, fairly new (so it can work in 10.5,6 etc) and produce average results, nothing special, just something will scan in the odd photo or document once in a while.

All i've found so far is this one from the Apple Store, which is £49

I'm really just looking for some other recommendations, as most of the scanners i'm finding aren't saying if their OS X compatible or not, my price range would probably be £50 max, anything more isn't really worth it tbh.

Thanks for any advice and recommendations provided,

Steven.

Canon's are good, and that one at Apple looks decent.

Is there a way of I can kind out easily if scanner models, canon or not, are compatible with OS X or not?

Thanks again,

Steven.

I don't know any way specifically, but the packaging/docs on them should say somewhere if it has OS X drivers or not.

And chances are if they sell it at the Apple Store, it will.

Hi Magsafe!

I had a look on Amazon, and this one looks good:

I like Canon's, they are a good marque so I wouldn't be worried about quality or anything.

Aside from that, just take a look on eBay (don't know whether you use it or not) and just keep to the good brands - Canon, Epson, Brother etc.

Hi Rob,

I looked at that model but wasen't sure if it was OS X compatible or not, so I guess i'm just looking for a guide now that will tell me which scanners are compatible and which ones aren't.

Also, is there anyone that uses a scanner themselves with OS X Tiger? If so could you let me know what model your using and if you would recommend it?

Thanks
