Me likey! I call dibs on the floating mountain!
Actually, that would be a cool spot for the Hotel de South. Edit: Had a run out there just now and it's a very nice spot. I approve. Aaaaaand, I'd be content with stopping right there. - AppleNova is the best Mac-users forum on the internet. We are smart, educated, capable, and helpful. Finally!
Holy gods, waiting for a thunderstorm (days*) and then hoping for a trap-spawn (days and days and days)... fuuuu. Never say never, but fuck. That was painful. *irl days. I've had this damn thing in the background while I work for 3 days now. I sit in a savanna biome (no rain noise) just waiting for thunder. Today, just a bit ago, it happened. It was brutal. So it goes. |

Skeleton trap!
Waiting for the infrequent thunderstorm and then waiting to see if a lightning bolt would beat the tiny odds and create a trap.... ugh. |

That is pretty wild. So does the trap look like a skeleton or how do you know it's a trap and not just a horse? Now I'm going to have to go stand in the rain for a while...

That was a bit weird to figure out. They don't 'tame' like the other horses, or even roughly steer when you mount them. If you saddle them they become rideable. Also, you can't attach a lead to them.

I read somewhere that it's more likely they happen in plains and savanna areas, so I was camped out on a dirt tower (around 1600/1600-ish, I think) for what seemed like forever. There's a little savanna village in the SE that I linked up to the Nether system to get over there. So it goes. |

Awesome, that's where I'll head then. I wouldn't mind a few of these to be door men for me.

So how did you protect yourself from being hit in a thunderstorm?
Did you make a little roof? Did you glue yourself to the screen to see if it was raining AND a thunderstorm?? ... |

I used glass for my tar tower and built a glass roof too. You can see me on the map and my glass too.
I've seen a ton of lightning strikes during the thunderstorm. Nothing came from it but small fires though.
