Kudos to the person at Apple for coming up with this. You know this is going to be one hot seller. With over 2 million iPods already sold, there's a huge market not counting new buyers this holiday season.

Not only will these be great stocking stuffers, they themselves may hang over the fireplace complete with an iPod inside.

That's 5 million. It was 2 million just last quarter.

I stand corrected.
But you get the idea...imagine just 10% of the 5 million owners buying one set of socks at $30 a pop = $150 million

10%? That's pretty damn high. I'd probably put the number closer to 1 or 2%.

I'm going to buy some socks... just because. Great original idea. Though $29 is a little high.

I'm going to hack the bottom off and wear them as bad-ass wrist bands! Or I might use them as a toque for my nuts. Canada is effing cold in the winter.

They probably won't sell them in Canada. They'll have to work out some deals with the Canadian sock-makers, and you know how damn bureaucratic they are.

They'd just need to stitch a little pom-pom thingy on the end to make it a true toque. I would so buy a Maple Leafs iPod toque.

The iPod Socks apparently come in an all-inclusive box, so you get all 6 colors.

I have to admit, I do love these things. Thing is, you just know that even these socks are going to be well-made since they're coming from Apple. Hell, the lint-free cloth that came with my iMac is better than anything I've found in stores. It pains me to see how second rate various hardware products are from even the best third parties.

Perfect timing too with Christmas season just around the corner. (Get it? -- stockings stuffed -- har har. )

I think it's a little silly. You can't operate the iPod without slipping it out of the sock. They'll probably sell as a gag gift though.

Apple totally ripped off Maneesh's superCase. They just didn't do as nice of a job.

Er, the remote? The sock is just as fuctional as the belt-clip, perhaps more functional since you could press the rewind/back and ff/skip buttons.

I think the idea is more of a cool transporting case as opposed to the typical leather and plastic doo-dads that are on the market now.

No, you can't use the scroll wheel, but then you can't wear any of those other cases, can you?

It is what it is, guys. Those that "get it" (on whatever level) will buy them. Those that don't, won't.

We'll debate and bicker on anything, won't we?

If this thread goes beyond one page, I'm jumping out a window.

I'm confused, when you pay $29 for these "socks" do you get the whole array of colors in one box, or just one sock/one color?

One box, six socks, six different colors (the iMac fruit colors, plus gray...uh, graphite).

One different color for each day of the week, with a day off to observe the Sabbath (thou shalt go bare with thy iPod, and not covet the sock).

Where did that lightning bolt come from?
