I'm in the market to replace my stolen Macbook Pro, and I was wondering if it would be worth my while to wait till after Sept 25 to buy one. Does anyone here think (or speculate, since this is the speculation forum) that there could be an update to the MacBook Pros at the event?

They were just updated during WWDC, so it's unlikely that they'll update the line just yet (except for the 17 inch and LED, but that's unlikely for now).

Seeing as they were updated a bit earlier this year, I wouldn't expect any more than a speedbump. It's possible that the 17" may go LED, but I'm not expecting that until the next major update. If you can hold out a month, however, you might as well.

I'd say there's room for an ultra thin MacBook Pro, although the "Pro" part in that depends on how you define "Pro" (in terms of either looks or tech specs)... It might very well be just a MacBook, but very sleek and hip, replacing the black MacBook, marketingwise.
Anyway, we might expect some very *thin* lappie on the 25th - specs unknown. |
