Does anyone here besides me cringe-watch the worst-written/acted show on TV, Fear the Walking Dead?
It dethrones Ally McBeal as the show with the most useless, unlikable and slap-worthy cast of twatknobs to ever inhabit a television show. I root for the zombies, all the way. "Eat them...eat them all!!" |

So I really don't know anything about Game of Thrones but I do know it's a TV show that doesn't have much to do with "game shows". However, a blogger I regularly read made this headline post:

For better or worse (I'd argue the latter), there's a fair bit of nekkidness and sexy tiems from time to time in GoT. Violence too. Probably not the most kid friendly show out there, but it's only on HBO for a reason.

Wow, that wasn't something I had expected from that show. Then again, seeing Jessica and Luke go at it what seems like constantly on Jessica Jones wasn't something I was expecting either. I'm still working my way through that series.

I don't watch Game of Thrones, but I think the girl with the white hair is so pretty (I've seen pics...I'm not totally out of the loop).
I think she has a dragon? |

Stick with it; JJ is great right through to the end. I finished season 1 on Netflix a few weeks ago myself, and then I just finished season 1 of Daredevil a few days ago. Yes, I know I'm late to the party and getting this stuff in the wrong order! The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. On a lighter note, anyone else catch AMC's premiere of Preacher?
*happy skippy dance* I have the entire run of the comic (1st printing) in my office. It's one of my favorite titles, like, ever. They're doing it justice, in their own way. A literal translation wasn't going to work, and they're already pulling in pieces and plot point from a dozen issues, but it's like watching a Rube Goldberg machine get set up at this point. Just waiting for that first ball bearing to drop. |

I don't know much about the comic other than it's a cult classic, but the show has me hooked so far. Couple of literal laugh-out-loud moments in there too, which I didn't expect. The whole thing is great, including the 3 leads. I'm going to watch it again during lunch today (it's streaming on the AMC website and through the AppleTV app for those wanting to see it without a cable subscription). So it goes. |

Stranger Things is pretty good so far, just started episode 3.
Hard to describe it too much without giving things away, since the show mostly relies of mystery and suspense. (Also, so far it's done away with some of Netflix's more obnoxious tropes. I'm all for sex scenes but sex scenes that have nothing to do with the plot are just dumb. I know how to download porn, thankyouverymuch) |

Eh, we fired up Stranger Things Sunday afternoon.
And, um, finished the last episode at 1am. Oops (It's good.) |

I started around seven tonight.
But hey, my manager's out of town and I only have three to go, so... Update: yes, I binged the entire show in one evening. Gonna regret this in the morning. Last edited by Ryan : 2016-07-20 at 03:17. |

They shot that here in town - some friends worked on it, which will probably make me watch it so I'm glad that it's good

Bourdain actually goes to Houston, famously his least favorite city in America for a long time.
And *amazingly* he gets it right. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/ente...witter-premium I'm watching it now (Amazon Video). This is the Houston I grew up in that nobody can believe exists. I lost a lot of respect for Bourdain after his Tokyo episode ("This is the underground Tokyo that tourists can't go to" but half that crap had been in Lonely Planet for years). Also, when he led a Twitter dogpile against a good friend of mine. This episode nearly redeems him in my eyes. The episode isn't perfect (that Bollywood dancing bit is silly) but it's good. The timing of this episode—aired two Fridays before the election—is not accidental. It's the most overtly political episode that I can recall from Parts Unknown and is clearly meant as a rebuke to the #MAGA crowd. Last edited by Ryan : 2016-11-01 at 19:33. |

Anyone watching Westworld? It's interesting - I just really hope they resist the urge to never actually tell us the answers to the mysteries they're dangling. (ie: The Lost mistake. See also: The Blacklist.) If you tease it out too long then I stop caring.

THe Blacklist writers have been told that they are doing a crime solving soap opera, I am sure.... there are no great answers, just more heaps of bs added on all previous heaps of bs.

I have hope for Westworld as it's a HBO property so maybe they'll actually finish the arc they intended originally.... Last edited by Bryson : 2016-11-02 at 14:22. |

Iron Fist is really, really fucking boring.
The problem with Finn Jones as the main character isn't the racial controversy, it's that he's an awful actor. I don't think a single other Marvel character has been bogged down with such one-dimensional acting. Can they just kill off this character before we get to The Defenders? I don't think I can watch another dozen episodes of Finn Jones. (Plus, does the MCU actually need two rich boys who go through a mystic transformation in the Himalayas?) |

Man, now I'm not sure I want to try to watch it. I have watched all of Netflix's shows so far so I had plans for this one too, despite the bad reviews I've seen for it.

So do something else while watching it as opposed to just focusing on the show, like play Minecraft. Got it.

Tonight's the Darth Maul vs Obi-Wan Kenobi fight on Star Wars Rebels, right? Am I crazy for being excited about this?
