Brad - can you please host propellerhead's photo inline. Flickr doesn't show up for me these days.
[EDIT] - Oh well. Last edited by Mac+ : 2007-07-08 at 03:57. Reason: propellerhead mentioned that it was now inline. I just see a hotlink, that still doesn't show up for me. |

I was looking through my photos today (seeing what else I could add to my Panoramio account) and found this - it's a portrait (of a sort) of me and my girlfriend. It has...something...that I really like. The parapet is on the city walls of York and I'm the one with the stupidly small head... |

for you much looking pleasure: I woke up for sunrise on the Outer Banks a few weekends ago. Ah, hell, here's the full gallery. Ebby: nice fireworks pics. Manual focus is what you really want anyway. Set focus to infinity. Autofocus will always screw up your timing or not let you focus at all. bulb exposures work best with a tripod (or propped on something stable). A nice trick is to have a black board handy. Leave the shutter open and place the board in front of the lens, pulling it away for the explosions, then moving it back over the lens between them. You get essentially multi-exposure fireworks whose lights don't get over-exposed. |

We are on the same wavelength here. Infinity was a little too far and I should have dialed back a bit. Autofocus was off the whole time. I had a tripod set up on the grass, bulb exposure selected, and a 3' remote so I didn't shake the camera by pressing the button. All shots were timed by my thumb and I am impressed by the results. I'm sort of late to this thread, but I took some neat pictures lately (new Canon S3 = <3) and felt like sharing a few...

Man I've missed this thread. Summer break from school has had me running in all directions and sadly, leaving my camera behind most of the time.
I just enrolled for my Fall 07 classes though and I'll be taking THREE!!! photo classes. Photojournalism, Studio Lighting 1 and Digital Imaging. I'll be very intimate with my camera in another month or so! Louis L'Amour, βTo make democracy work, we must be a nation of participants, not simply observers. Hey Turtle, where are you taking these classes?
I'm a freshman at SUNY Buffalo this fall and taking Intro to Digital Photography... I really think I'll like it. |

An old shot from a business trip to Santa Fe in 2001. I was attending a workshop at the Hotel Santa Fe:
It's the only Native American owned hotel in Santa Fe, built in adobe architecture style. My photos @ flickr The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either. -- Benjamin Franklin |

Beautiful shots! I particularly loved the baby tiger and the fireworks shots and the one of the beach on this page, but I think that everyone here shows great talent. I wish I could shout out more that I love, but then I'd have a massive list.
This was taken near Daytona Beach, Florida. This is of a geese family near my dorm at Rutgers. This is of a red-shouldered hawk in a park near my home in Florida. |

I almost had a shot like that of the hawk. Mine was a red tail hawk on a chain link fence in a parking lot. Just before I grabbed my camera, the hawk bent over to fly but instead let out a stream of birdshit that coated the hood of some poor feller's blue car.
My laughing scared the bird away. |

I had two pretty amazing views at the same time from my front porch the other day:
Looking North - Plume of smoke rising off of the Meriwether Fire in the Gates to the Mountains Wilderness Looking West - Sunset with smoke More of the same at http://web.mac.com/kringsmd/iWeb/Sit...etherFire.html Do you know where children get all of their energy? - They suck it right out of their parents! |
