It's going to be released on November 11th in Japan and November 17th in North America, Europe and Australia. The price will be $499 for the version with a 20 GB hard drive and $599 with a 60 GB hard drive. No word yet on other differences between the two systems... I know the Xbox 360 Premium adds not only a hard drive but also a wireless controller instead of a wired one, but there's no mention of anything like that for the PS3.

too bad the xbox 360 requires an external hd dvd player for next gen games, and the ps3 has an internal blu ray drive, that alone is worth the entire cost of the unit.
