Anybody of you mugs in the peanut gallery familiar with the above-stated setup? I need to run a PowerPoint presentation on a 16:9 Plasma Display, hopefully off of an iBook. Will I need to change my machine's resolution to fit the 16:9 aspect or will the display likely do that for me?

The display, if it's somewhat decent, should be able to take care of that.

For the more adventurous amongst us, you might hack your iBook to support screen spanning and thus use the display's native resolution. http://macparts.de/ibook

without the hack I think the iBook will only put out 1024x768.

You are correct Sir!

Without the spanning hack the iBook only supports video mirroring and only at the resolutions of 1024x786 and 800x600.
