Hi All

I have recently recieved my replacement battery for my 12" powerbook (since the website said their origional battery is a good firelighter) and am getting a battery life of 2h. Ive had my pb for a year and a bit and even after that time the old battery was giving well over 2h life (2,20 - 2,35).

here's the questions

1, does anyone know if the replacement batteries are lower capacity?

2, Is the replacement ive got typical?

3, since I havn't sent my old battery back yet whats to stop me keeping it as a spare?

1,2) You may have gotten a refurbished battery. calibrate it and see if that helps. check apple's site for that info

3) if you gave them your CC#, they'll charge the amount to that if you dont send it back. If you havent, i say keep it until you get something from a collection agency.

Hi All

Just thought people should know. I Have a 12"pb G4 (the one with the current battery recall) and recently recieved my replacement battery. On calibrating it I was getting a battery life of 2h. I have just got off the phone with apple and they have agreed I should be getting more and are shipping me a new battery.

Anyone who has replaced their battery in this way its worth checking your battery life and contacting Apple if the battery life your getting is short - they have been very helpful with me.
