Trying to stream iTunes into my Stereo through my wireless network (Netgear WGR614 connected to DSL) into the an Airport Express.

How do I get my Netgear to talk to the Airport Express? Cannot find anything in the userguide and the Setup Assistant did not help either

Help

Run the AirPort Setup Assistant in the Utilities folder. If that does not work do this:

Is the Airport Express connected to the router with an ethernet cable or is it all wireless?

If it is connected via ethernet open the Airport Admin Utility. Choose the Airport Express you are trying to configure. Click on the muusic tab nd make sure that "Enable AirTunes over the Ethernet port" is checked.

Restart iTunes and see if the speakers are listed.

If the APEx is connected wirelessly open the Airport Admin Utility. Choose the Airport Express you are tring to configure. On the AirPort tab, choose "Join an Existing Wireless Network (Wireless Client)."

Restart iTunes and see if the speakers are listed.

Also if you are doing this from a Windows computer instead of a Mac you might want to install Bonjour for Windows available on Apple's website. I used it to set up my printer from windows in a snap.

I went into the Admin Utility but cannot find the AExp even when hitting 'rescan'.

How can I make it visible?

Reset the AirPort to factory defaults.

From this article.

Quote:
How to perform a factory default reset

Important: This erases all settings and saved profiles. The settings erased include Access Control and RADIUS settings.

Follow these steps:

Unplug the AirPort Express from the power outlet.
Press and hold the reset button.
Plug AirPort Express back into an AC outlet (still holding the button).
Continue holding the button until you see the light flash green four times, which should happen after a few seconds.
Release the button.

As with a hard reset, the AirPort Express will not be visible in the AirPort menu item or AirPort Admin Utility for a short time. Remember that this whole process takes approximately 45 seconds to complete. You may then use the AirPort Express in its default state or reconfigure it using either the AirPort Express Assistant or AirPort Admin Utility. See the above hard reset section for information on the default settings.

Try re-setting your Airport Express first. Plug it in and wait for the status light to turn green, then launch the Admin Utility to configure your Airport.

EDIT: Ooops, EmC posted a better reply.
