I just got a airort express along with my new iBook. I already have a M$ wireless router connected to my cable modem. however, I live in a big house, and there are a couple of spots in the house where I can't take my iBook to and still be connected. I bought the Airport Express hoping that it'd help me extend the wireless network (the primary reason I bought it was airtunes though). However, I found out that it doesn't extend the network for non-Apple routers... that blows! Does anyone have any tips/ hacks for me to try?

See http://www.google.com/search?client=...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 It's not like Apple made their hardware work ONLY with other Apple routers. It's up to your non-Apple router manufacturer to support WDS if you want to extend a signal from their router. Maybe you can ask them if they are planning to offer a firmware upgrade to support WDS. |
