I approve of the slightly altered Post Quick Reply / Go Advanced buttons.

Very nice. It's not the OS X 10th Anniversary theme, but this is pretty sweet. Thanks!

Excellent. </mrburns>

Particularly dig the Genie effect as you open new tabs.

And the Speed Holes are...

1st: MacBook ports/logic board?
2nd: A4 (out of an iPhone4?)
3rd: iPad speaker?

Me gusta.

I particularly like the new speedholes. I know #2 is an iOS device CPU (can't tell if it's A4 or A5) and #3 is the inside of the current Mac Mini, but I haven't figured out the first one yet.

I like it.

Way more blue, but in a good way.

Nice work Brad.

I especially like how it uses some of a blue colour scheme like the anniversary theme. Very good design judgement there, Brad.

Nice !

I think I still prefer the 3.0 look (minus the round corners of buttons). Roll it out ! I think we're ready now

But nice work on this one. I like it.

I like it. Are the new buttons supposed to be an homage to the new OS X Lion UI widgets?

I've been wondering what happened to that for the last 4 years. Can't believe it's been that long

May 15 isn't some sneaky "May Fools Day" affair is it?

I'm here on my iPhone so much, I didn't even realize there was a theme switch. It looks great. So, when is the iPhone theme going to get some love?

To let you know how long it's been, in the thread that image is from I mention I haven't been on all day because I've been playing with my sexy new Helio Ocean.

(And yes, I do measure the passing of time by what phone I'm using when. Sue me.)

That said, I just want to thank Brad for being our fearless leader and for putting up with our constant feature requests, angry/drunk PMs and general shenanigii. If I'm ever the next John Gruber, I will totally tell everybody to come here, instead of having a comments section. *salutes*

Thanks but I've never heard of Helio, so that doesn't help much.

I'm pretty sure I would've been using one of these babies:

With interchangeable covers!

I hated it, and the cover was completely idiotic but it made calls and sent texts and was reliable as shit and that's all I really wanted at the time. Oh and it had a proprietary adaptor for the earphone (singluar) that was a shit to put in and out until after a few uses when it would become loose just fall out continuously.

Thinking back, I'm kind of amazed that company still exists

Brad -

nice theme!

However, there seems to be some kind of rendering bug but I'm not sure if it's my Safari or Applenova.

Here's what happen when I load a page - it seems that when I move my mouse around over the page while it's loading, the inner area (the gray background) flashes in'n'out, sometime up to 5-7 times.

Or is there a "annoy_banana_flag=1" somewhere in the PHP?

Never seen that happen here, Banana. OS/Safari version? Are you running a nightly WebKit or anything else out of the ordinary?

Also, the backgrounds are light blue. Calibrate your displays, people!!

OS: 10.5.8
Version 5.0.4 (5533.20.27) (I updated it very recently; last night, actually)

No funky stuff like nightly or plugins or anything. Vanilla as far as I know.

Just to be clear, this flickering stop when the page completes loading so it's not that annoying, providing you're not moving mouse around while it's loading.

Helio was an infamously heavily-marketed-but-short-lived US carrier aimed at the youth market. ("It's not a phone, it's a Helio!" There, now all the young Americans here hate me.) Their flagship device, the Ocean, was announced just before the iPhone and was heavily hyped as a SideKick (hiptop) killer. Its gimmick (which admittedly was pretty cool) was that it could actually slide open two ways, horizontally to reveal a qwerty keyboard and vertically to reveal a traditional phone keypad. In other words, it's exactly the sort of phone that the iPhone immediately made look horribly obsolete, which might be why Helio ended up getting bought out by Virgin Mobile not long thereafter.

It's the sort of how-did-we-ever-think-this-was-cool thing that will show up on I Love The 2000s to make everybody groan. But whatever you do, don't call it a phone!

Well, that sounds cool, but my phone came with a device where you could insert a page of a magazine, or something you'd drawn, or whatever, and cut it into the shape of the cover inserts to make your own unique covers. So there!

My first ever phone, Kyocera's K10 "Royale," had interchangeable faceplates and a color screen. :O

Look at the buttons on my old phone. CAN YOU IMAGINE A MORE STUPID WAY TO DESIGN BUTTONS ON A PHONE!? Christ, I forgot how stupid Nokia actually were...

It did have a built-in flashlight thought, that was cool

EDIT: Don't bother answering the above question, I've seen plenty of dumber designs: mostly all from Nokia.

I thought rotary dial phones were to bomb, back in the 80's. In some ways I miss them. That was back when you called a company and talked to a person and not a machine.

Has there always been a slight texture to the new blue background? I just noticed it and I really like it.
