AI is running an article about possible updates to the Airport and apparently also a two-buttoned mouse.

In other news, an unprecidented cold-front has passed over Hell, causing temperatures to drop well below freezing. Developing...

Humbug.

Maybe it's because Jeff Raskin passed on, so they don't have to worry about him coming around and stabbing them all to death in their sleep any more.

Apparently Apple is also designing a mouse that fits like a shoe.

What takes "developing" in a two-button mouse? It's not as if there's some fancy stuff going on in a plain ol' mouse.

I'm still looking for that two button + scroll + Bluetooth mouse from Apple but I don't see it coming any time soon...

Hopefully if they are developing a new mouse it'll use the L.A.S.E.R. (Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation for the acronym impaired ) technology found in Logitech's MX1000 mouse.

If they introduce a two-button mouse, it better have a scroll wheel.

Nah, it won't. You'll have to wait another 29 years for a scroll wheel. Meanwhile Apple will claim in public that no-one in thier right mind uses scroll wheels anyway, all the while adding really cool uses for one in it's software....

I'd like to see this one branded with a small, blue glowing apple and bluetooth:

I'd rather have a one-button mouse with scroll wheel than a two-button mouse without scroll wheel. IMO, the scroll wheel would be much more useful on a wireless mouse.

If this rumor is true, I can't wait for it. Since they've had plenty of time to develop it, it should be pretty awesome.

Holy crap that's ugly... Apple would never approve of that beast >_<

I expect the mouse to look something like Kensington's Studio Mouse, except sleeker. It would probably use a touch sensitve area for scrolling, a la iPod.

Actually, it looks a lot like some of the concept/prototype designs that Apple created in the early 90s.

And unlike the Studio Mouse, it had better use a touch sensitive area, not a mash sensitive area.

Alcimedes and I were talking about this yesterday when he helped me transfer my data over from my SATA drive to my IDE drive (which will be put into an external Firewire case soon). The Studio Mouse is perhaps one of the worst mice ever created. In theory, a touch sensitive scroll pad sounds great. And it could have been great. But they ruined it by requiring about 20 pounds of pressure to be placed on the pad in order for it to register. If it were like a PowerBook touchpad, it would have been great.
