It's 80 degrees outside, I'm in shorts and a t-shirt at a Starbucks. This is not the holiday I imagined as a kid.

Yes Merry Christmas everyone!!

Hope Santa was kind to you.

On my geeky side i got a new NAS to serve up all my movies and music around the house, so i am spending ages copying everything across to the new system. On the non geeky side i got an awesome Lego space shuttle!!! That will take up the next week building that.

Happy birthday, Isaac Newton. It's a shame your birthday will long be overshadowed by that of a folk legend.

Happy Not Being blown Up via a Mayan Prophecy fellow ANers (though, tbh, I was kind've looking forward to this planet getting a nice clean scrub).

Ah well. If we're still around I guess we have to make the best of it.

So it goes.

Well Newton believed in Jesus Christ, the existence and sovereignty of God, the literal interpretation of the Bible and the intelligent design of the Earth.

So I doubt he has a huge problem with things as they are.

Good point, albeit I am not so sure about point number [3] myself (either in terms of Newton's beliefs, and certainly my own - as taught in my own church "the Bible is all true, and some of it actually happened" ), and point [4] may be recognized without in any way calling into question science (God works through science). In any event, everyone can relax - there are many paths to the Almighty. Just be kind. Merry Christmas.

Very nice Ryan! I tried a cold press coffee this year for the first time. Quite a pure taste - was a refreshing shot.

Actually, for the first time in a few years, absolutely no computer or other device hardware was exchanged in our family this year. I declare the market to be satiated! Tech companies be on notice.

My wife did get me a couple of small, semi-abstract paintings of female nudes by a local artist. The are very sensual and artistic - I was very happy to get them. She received clothes from me, which incredibly, somehow all fit and looked good. I am normally intimidated in buying clothes as gifts - especially for her - since you never know how it will look on, whether it will fit, and whether it is to her taste (although the 'taste' part I am more confident about than the other points). Anyway, it worked out.

Interesting. I had never heard of that. Do you actually drink it cold as well, or is that just the brewing process?
