Texture packs are almost always backwards-compatible. I'm making this available tonight so people can be ready for when we update the server tomorrow night. Go ahead and grab the texture pack now so you'll be ready to go tomorrow night and won't be missing any textures.

Did you change sandstone in the new texture pack, or is it just me?

Glad you reminded me. Updated now! Also reverted the redstone wire texture. Same link as always.

Texture pack updated for beta 1.7!

Note: This update is not fully backwards compatible with beta 1.6 and earlier because Mojang changed the texture arrangement for cakes and beds. Everything still works; cakes and beds just look a little funny in older Minecraft clients.

Texture pack updated for the beta 1.8 pre-release leak!

This pack should be backwards compatible with beta 1.7.x. Just new textures added this time. I might tweak this pack a bit more once 1.8 officially drops, but this should be good enough for now.

Question...where do I put the texture pack in Lion? Nothing is in the same place...

Mine is still in the same place. I have my MC stuff in Dropbox on all my Macs. This means same settings across all machines. Works well even with Beast still running SL.

My Library folder that used to be at Users/me/Library is no longer there...I can't find the minecraft folder to install a texture pack.

EDIT: Found it. Really annoying, Apple. Have to hold down Option while in Finder>Go.

You need to make the library folder visible. Google it real quick to find out how, or hold option when you click on "Go" in the finder menu bar.

One way to get there is open Finder and then select Go -> Go To Folder (or Shift - Command - G) and type in ~/Library

Love the new textures. Rotten meat is now sufficiently disgusting.

Thanks go to the Painterly Pack for the new meats. As soon as I saw them, I immediately knew they'd be an upgrade over the standard icons.

Oh yeah... lily pads are transparent in the inventory and don't have a name. Game glitch?

The missing name bit is definitely a bug. The greyscale texture is because that's how Minecraft applies biome colors; shades of grey get replaced dynamically in the game. In your inventory, though, it loses its association with the biome and thus loses its color. Arguably that's a bug too.

Why are the cows brown & white now? Have they been that way for long? Exactly how old IS my texture pack?
