Is it possible to run two 'external' displays with extended desktop in 'lid down' mode on a MacBook Pro Intel Core Duo?

Does the dual-link DVI allow for this?

i think dual link DVI is only for the 30" and up monitors and not to drive 2 seperate external monitors.

I thought that might be the case. I'm looking for a Mac solution that I can run dual displays on AND will fit into a 19" rack case. The MacPro desktop is NOT that solution unless I cut the handles off - not ready to go there, yet.

hmm.

There might be some hardware to split the dual-link port into two single-link ports. Maybe from Matrox.

Actually, there is
Limits you to 1280x1024 on two or three monitors though, and, of course, it's windows only so it might not be the ticket to heaven.
(It's called Dualhead2Go or Triplehead2Go BTW)
