Finally. The 1.0 release for 5G iPods was freakishly buggy.

Answered my own question: yup! Cool. I can be happy with my iPod again... And is it just me or did they somehow turn down the scrollwheel sensitivity? It was driving me batty before.

If it's not red and showing substantial musculature, you're wearing it wrong.

Well, as I stated above, it seems to have fixed the annoying lag and scroll wheel sensitivity problems I was having. So two thumbs up for that.

It still hasn't fixed the calendar syncing issue (all appointments are set back 1 hour). I haven't encountered any other bugs in my iPod, so I can't speak to them.

Looks like I'll have to console my poor old iPod 3G. He's missing out on all the fun!

Ditto on the props for this update! Scroll-wheel action is greatly improved, videos definitely start playing a little quicker, and the interface in general seems Snappier™.

I noticed that for the old click wheels, the software goes from 3.1 -> 3.1.1 I wonder if they ever fixed the playlist auto update problem where you have to sync in order to get playlists to update. My iPod is with my wife on a trip so I have no way to check.

Hooray! My prayers have been answered!

Kudos to apple for doing more than just supporting the new FM tuner in the new firmware.

[edit] Everything does seem alot snappier, but the iPod still has troubles sleeping when I tell it to

I just installed this update, and it forced me to plug the iPod into the wall power adaptor once it was done. Which was soemwhat tedious, as the charger is at work and I was at home. Why does it need to go into the wall power? Is USB or Firewire power from the laptop not juicy enough?
