It was long rumored that Apple was about to change the Software Update mechanism. Now, Thawte, a "Global Verification Authority" has started offering Apple Developer Certificates:

Surly it would be up to apple to distribute these certificates once a software company has some how "proven" that they are making their software to all of apples guidelines.
If I am not mistaken, with MS signed drivers, is the signing not done by MS Hardware Labs once it has been tested? OK, I have given up keeping this sig up to date. Lets just say I'm the guy that installs every latest version as soon as its available! |
