How cool is this for all of us with Wi-Fi only iPads? Very cool in my book. Now the ubiquity of Starbucks is something that will actually be quite helpful for traveling with the iPad.

Good - although US-only to start with...

I find the login process is a bit of a trial with a iPhone.

It's really about time. (Starbucks Rewards members, of course, always got two hours of free WiFi whenever they used their card, but this is better.)

Last time I logged in, which was less than a week ago here, there was no log in for iPhone anymore. I just picked the network and it worked, didn't have to type in phone numbers or get text messages any longer.

Exactly. I think they got rid of that approach a long time ago. Or maybe you need to do it the very first time, but every time I've gone to my local Barnes & Noble (with a big Starbucks store operating within), my iPhone automatically picks up their WiFi and I get on.

But I think this goes beyond the AT&T thing they were offering for iPhone owners, so it's everyone, on any device, etc.

Which is great news. I hope this becomes more and more common in popular stores, cafes, pubs, etc. Anything that helps me stay below that new 200MB data limit I'll soon be switching too is great!

It's worked for me for a long time. I had to log in once a while back but since then it hasn't prompted me for a login.
