You haven't forgotten to disable pop-up blocking?

interesting. i didn't try myself, but have you tried using MPlayer? mplayer is a media player for *nix, and mplayerosx (the link i gave) is a special version which works with OSX.

Try it in Windows Media Player for Mac OS X. Works here.

i guess that's the only solution... i wanted to avoid WMP since i had so much trouble with it before.

is it stable, not poluting your system?

It's stable enough. It's not a great app, but it usually gets the job done.

No, it doesn't "pollute" your system unless you consider Microsoft software in general to be pollution.

ok, good. i was worried that it would install microsoft libraries and stuff all over the place. so it's just the application, nothing else?

Right. It's just the application itself and a plug-in for your web browsers that is installed at /Library/Internet Plug-Ins.

Darn tootin' packages is the key word here.

In the application package are several localizations and each localization has its own set of HTML help files. That probably accounts for most of those 500+ files.

That's my bitch with Firefox, Limewire, etc. They also don't use standard context menus, etc.
