** iTunes keeps launching itself :S

hi. i've just downloaded opera - don't know if that makes any difference, but iTunes keeps opening itself, behind other windows/programmes etc. Its very regular as well, sometimes ever minute-ish, sometimes as soon as i've exited it again. It also seems that its only when i'm on the internet. Any ideas anyone?

In the time it took me to right this, it opened twice.

Thanks.

Disable any Dashboard widgets or other third-party utilities that may access or control iTunes. I'd put money on one of those being the problem.

So, for the record, what was it? A specific Dashboard widget? Which one?

This would be helpful to know when other users report the same problem.

i had the iTunes controller and 'sing that itune' widgets. i disabled both and it seems to be working. I have 'un-dissabled' sing that itune, and everything is fine - so it must have been the iTunes controller.

Thanks for all your help.

I had a similar problem. There seemed to be some background process associated with the widget that, when killed, resolved the issue. It hasn't returned since and I continue to run the iTunes widget.

The future is tomorrow!

This, boys and girls, is why Dashboard sucks and needs to be gotten rid of.
