Hi All,
I am trying to set up two separate itunes libraries. The first is the one I already have on my hard drive in my powerbook so it's done already. It is compressed AAC files that I carry on my powerbook and iPod. I also have a Lacie 160GB external hard drive. My Airport Express will be shipping later this month, and in preparation I want to import all my CD's in the apple lossless codec onto this external hard drive. I want to stream the lossless files to my home stereo. How do I have these two separate libraries existing simulataneously. One on my computer and ipod in compressed AAC. The other to listen to from my external hard drive in lossless codec only for my home stereo. Thank you in advance, and if I wasn't clear just ask and I'll clarify. Thanks vai comer folhas |

the easiest option for me would be creating a new user on the computer and importing your music onto that user's account.
It is going to be an involved process and since I'm on dial-up right now I probably won't be able to walk you through it. Maybe someone else can pick up the slack? 1215/234215 (top .51875%) People really have got to stop thinking there is only one operating system, one economic system, one religion, and one business model. -EvilTwinSkippy (/.) |

There's a script available that does this very thing. I haven't used it in a while, but it's recently been updated. iTunes Library Manager. Enjoy! Let us know how well it works.

You should know that streaming files that size doesn't always work, depending on how far away the units are from one another. I tried streaming AAC files over 802.11g(Airport Extreme) and ever few seconds it would have to rebuffer the file.

Yeah, but he's talking about streaming Lossless files. Those are big, no matter what you do, so if it doesn't work well with AAC (maximum of 320 kbps), it won't work with Lossless very well at all.
