I just had a pretty interesting conversation with someone at MobileMe via the web chat.

My Issue: Why when I read a new email on my iPhone does it not show up as read on the MobileMe webmail or Mail.app (which is checking my MobileMe account)? It is IMAP after all...

Answer: If you want to delete emails, you should set up your MobileMe account as POP.

um...

I have the opposite problem in that when I read something on Mail.app it doesn't translate to the phone.... but POP? That won't work at all. This whole thing is kind of a PR nightmare for Apple.

The more I read your conversation the more I wanted you to just open up on her.

Sometimes I wonder if chat support is AI, because a normal human being can't possibly be that stupid.

But then I remember this...

Yeah I feel your pain. I have been having a hell of a time fixing my iTunes store account. After a few emails with iTunes support, they tell me my problem is due to having a MM account.

I then go to MM support and waste another hour and a half talking to them. Long story short, they say that I should be talking to iTunes support. I finally get iTunes support to manually reset my account and password and they end up sending the new password to my address but forgot the m in .com.

Frustration, endless frustration...

That long? I was hoping they'd have done it three weeks ago.

Well obviously I would have liked for it to be 100% functional from the start, but that's clearly out the window at this point
