Is there a time limit? I wanted to edit an old post of mine in a now defunct (but not locked) thread and am not able to. The thread is about 2 or 3 weeks old.

I didn't know there was a time limit, but I guess if you can't there must be one. I don't recall seeing a setting for this. Brad would know. WWBD?

Whoa! Apparently we do have a limit set to 10 days.

I've disabled the limit now.

I don't have an "edit" button option on this post (want to fix spelling of calendar) and it is only 5 days old? Has something changed?

actually im a fan of disabling edits on posts after a certain time limit.

if something has to be removed for a good reason, the user can contact a mod/admin. otherwise it destroys the readability of old threads.

maybe a poll would be in order.

I agree. There has been a few instances of someone editing all the text out of a post after a certain amount of time because of one reason or another. It allows people to be more dishonest as well as hurting the readability of threads. If you say something stupid in a post, it should be out there for the world to see, not edited because someone ripped you a new one

eh - it was only a typo that I just noticed when reading the thread again.
I *can* live with it - I only posted here b/c I missed the part where it said edit times have limits ... but thanks for pointing it out to me 709.
