Oooh! It's the 'Guess what's in the speedholes' game again.

Merry Christmas everyone, and here's to hoping that 2009 will be a better year than 2008.

Spoiler (click to toggle):
Number 1 looks like Burl Ives as Sam the Snowman... in "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" ?? . . . youtube. com/watch?v=tIsDkMAtdoU
Number 2 is Chewbacca's kid 'Lumpy' from the 1977 "Star Wars Holiday Special" . . . video.google. com/videoplay?docid=323909610753051544 <--- full 117 minute cringeworthy video
Number 3 is one of the bad guys from "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" . . . youtube. com/watch?v=zT6akoSCzpw

edit: Spoiler tags added in case others want to guess... video evidence of 2 and 3... not sure about 1... might be more wilfred brimley looking snowman than burl ives...

edit 2: tried a bunch of text colours, but can't get the links not to peek through the spoiler grey... rewritten to add spaces and baffle the linkparser

All those who believe in telekinesis, raise my hand.

Ooooo, pretty. This one is right up there with this year's Halloween motif - it helps that blue and green are two of my favorite colors, too.

Amusingly, linktext shows up in this theme even through spoiler tags. You might want to obfuscate those links a bit, curiousuburb.

Unconventional Christmas colour scheme.

Kinda makes me think about Mentos. Which is weird considering I never eat them.

And a merry Christmas to you guys as well.

Spoiler (click to toggle):

#2: Star Wars Christmas Special
#3: Santa Claus vs. the Martians

Please tell me #1 was voiced in the style of Buford T. Justice...

Love it!

Edit: Maaaaaan, I just saw burb's post.

As always, the theme looks infinitely better with a well-calibrated display! Anyone using Apple's built-in "Color LCD" profile will just be getting a washed-out blur of puke-green instead of the awesomely crisp, minty blue and teal.

#1 was intended as a trick (looks like I fooled 'burb at least! tomoe and Bryson got it), #2 was pretty obvious, but I must say I'm impressed that #3 was guessed so quickly as well! I'll admit that the theme took a little longer to make than it should have because I started watching the #3 MST3K DVD to grab a screenshot, but I couldn't stop watching because the commentary was so hilarious.

Whoops! I missed the spoiler class links in the CSS. I'll try to fix that shortly. Thanks for the bug report!

I have to say, I'm very disappointed that I've never seen the Star Wars Holiday Special.

Despite that dismal 3.8/10 review on IMDB.

You must, of course, see it through the eyes of the MST3K crew.

Wow! The whole thing is on YouTube, split into 10 parts:

#2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T95wr4APeJM
#3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRzhUGgFEeQ

It may start off a bit slow, but do stick with it. In fact, on part 1, just jump straight to the 6 minute mark.

I saw the "Star Wars" holiday thing as a kid, on its original airing (who among us, of a certain age, didn't?). Even then, as hopped-up on "Star Wars" as I was (again, who wasn't? I had it bad...), I was left a bit cold and weirded-out (and if I knew what "WTF?!" meant as a nine-year-old, I would've said it.

I actually remember being kinda sad, and feeling like "they messed it all up! They made it stupid and corny! Noooooo!". Even as a kid I saw it for what it was.

Brad. Beautifull. No not you. The theme. Well you are pretty neat to! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, to all Applenovians.
And a special hug for Windswept. (insert hugging smiley)

I used to be undecided.....But now I'm not so sure.

This new color scheme is growing on me more and more.

Maybe we should stay with this one or get a new default color scheme? Change is good.
