Thanks for the hugs, Amadeus.

You even have "love" in your name, which is cool.

Yeah, I guess I *am*, murbeau. But flirting is one of my favorite things; and besides, thegelding said it was okay on my birthday.

I *had* been trying to tone it down a bit lately (the flirting, I mean), since I'm actually such a shy, delicate flower ( ). But 'today'... today is different.

Tell you what, pony up those pics I've been asking for, and you can do whatever you want with my 6-pack. (I mean the abs. Don't touch the beer. No one touches the beer.)
Damn, murbeau, if I were around, I'd make sure you had TEN CASES of beer, so you wouldn't have to worry about someone taking one. (See, Leos are lavish, generous, unstinting... in *all* things. )

About those pics... maybe 'someday'...

Gosh, I'm amazed that you even remember that, EmC.

I had no idea that was your first PM ever. Makes me all the more glad I sent it.

Thank 'you' for the good wishes.

Continuing with undertaker's recent string of b-day threads, I thought I'd wish xionja a happy happy 17th b-day! I remember when you were posting as a 14 year old! How they grow!

Seriously, I hope you're out right now having a great time!

An aside for oldmacfan: Oh boy, do I have a wine to tell you about! I was celebrating a new job I just got and I found this great Oregon pinot noir that I picked out for the dinner I made.

I'm from Oregon originally, so I like to continually try out Northwest wines. It's from the Domaine Serene vineyard and it's their 1999 "Evenstad Reserve" Pinot Noir. Fantastic wine. We had it with a rich soy and butter sauced salmon, oven-roasted white asparagus and sliced strawberries. (I put in the food because I knew Carol would like to hear about it.)

Actually, I could pop out of the cake and make Carol dinner. That would work. Geez, somehow I got back on topic with the thread...weird.

If that is the wine, I haven't had one in 7 or 8 years, sadly I no longer work professionally as a sommelier. What I can tell you is that Oregon consistantly produces this nations top Pinots IMHO. I used to stock 10-12 of them on my list. That made up 60% of the Pinots I offered from the States.

Also, if you ever have the rare chance to indulge in a bottle of this...

or this...

count your blessings and share a sip with someone special, you will remember that moment for a long time. I count myself among the lucky for I didn't have to pay to experience either of these heavenly wines.

Okay, everyone. I'm making this a "perpetual happy birthday" thread so we don't clutter the forums with a new one every day.

Dec + 9 months = Aug.

Conception occurs 9 months prior to birth.

Get it?

Although by my reckoning, it should be Nov...

Jan 1 (1/1) + 9 months -> Oct 1 (10/1).

Dec 1 -> Sep 1.

Nov 1 -> Aug 1.

S'okay torifile, fencepost errors trip up a lot of non-programmers... and way too many programmers.

<offtopic> Speaking of that, I had the hardest time recently explaining to a non-programmer why counting needs to start with 0 instead of 1 in some cases. It was painful. </offtopic>

Hence 'fencepost'. "You see a fence with 11 stakes, 10' apart. How long is the fence?" Nearly everyone says 110ft. Bzzzt. 100ft. The first stake doesn't count in determining distance, it is stake number 0.

Most people seem to be able to grasp that one. If not, I try not to talk to them too often.

Sober it made a little more sense, until I realized again that you quoted my post and then the whole counting to nine thing and why December is zero and August is 8 thing. Then I realized that it was a turkey baster thing. If you have to wait for the turkey to cook for 5-7 hours and you are getting up at the crack of dawn to start it, then you are already awake and you might as well start something.
