Has anyone else tried any of the Callwave services? The offer an SMS widget and a Visual Voicemail widget in addition to both those services being available from their web interface. It seems like a really cool thing, and a result of them taking over your voicemail service from your regular provider is callers no longer have to listen to your cell service's horrible "to leave a voice message, press 1, or just wait for the tone...". When a caller leaves a voicemail, you're notified by text message which even contains some details about the message.
My first impressions are that it is very slick, and it looks like they have a beta coming out pretty soon with tighter integration between SMS and voicemail, so you can check them from one website. On a side note, a quick search at the USPTO shows two trademarks for "Visual Voicemail", and they appear to be neither Apple nor Callwave. |
