My wife is so awesome. She knows I'm not the blubbery emotional type at all. In fact, I have to work really had to not be an ass because I'm just being straightforward. So we have been looking at expanding the family tree again and got things underway (read: fired IUD) just about a month ago (31 days exactly). We've been practicing the whole time to ensure efficiency in all areas. So this morning my wife gets a call and heads into the other room with her MB in hand. This isn't abnormal since we have a 13 year old and a 15 month old and sometimes they forget it's quiet time when someone's on the phone.

With her held up in the bedroom I head into the office to get some work done. I can hear her on the phone but couldn't hear what she was saying. I checked mail again to see what was going on here at AN and I get this message from my awesome wife:

Is she awesome or what!? No need for emotionalism here. I laughed out loud and headed into the bedroom to confirm this cryptic message and ... I'll leave out those details.

Anyway, I'm pretty excited with the news and thought my friends here might want to know.

That's awesome man! What a fun way to find out!

My wife wore one of those t-shirts with the baby looking out when she got pregnant. Of course we found out the day after we bought our season tickets to Six Flags.

I was trying to think of a user title you could use in regard to your marksmanship but that could get weird quick... you're on your own in that regard! Unless Alci or Murbot open some brewskis tonight...

I was thinking "Bullseye" as a middle name if it's a boy, would give the kid a good after dinner story in later years without running the risk of completely wrecking the poor child's life like using Bullseye as his first name would.

If they named him after you, he'd be Drew Bullseye Turtle. Pretty impressive style of a title if you ask me.

Yeah... I feel the title of a new movie coming on, something catchy like: "Turtle Rides Again!!" or "Hi-Ho Turtle!"

Anyway Congratulations, Turtle... Sounds like you're a real ringer!

Very well said. Ever heard of "Kama Sutra"?

Thanks everyone. My wife and I have found a new OB and hospital today. Our old OB had a midwife we used but she moved recently and the office just isn't the same. So we found another midwife that handles things wonderfully and she doesn't practice at the hospital we used last time.

All is well though.

As for names, my wife has them picked out already. She's way ahead of the game for sure. Jr. if it's a boy and I can't tell you if it's a girl. Something about women not wanting to let the name get out that they want to use in case one of you have a kid and name it the name she wants to use, or something like that.

That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, and that's exactly how I would be, too.

Not than I'm planning on having kids, or anything. But I'm already that way with the characters I write.

About five or six years ago, when I first started writing what would eventually become my current novel, I found the *perfect* name for the hero of the story - a daring pirate of eccentric mind and ambiguous sexuality. The name?

Jack Sparrowfall.

I shit you not.

Needless to say, I was extremely upset when a certain movie studio stole the name, and, um, used it for the lead character in the suprise box office hit of the summer. For a long time, I refused to see the movie, because of the imposter. Which is a shame, because when I finally did see it, it instantly became one of my favorites.

I won't tell you the name I've more or less decided on - I don't want to jinx it - but as Murphy's Law would have it, no name has ever "fit" quite so perfectly.

When I was very young, I used to imagine that somebody had snuck into my bedroom one night and implanted a "thought transmitter" into my brain, which would transmit all my (incredibly valuable) ideas, which would be sold to the highest bidder, or something.

I was a sad, strange little child.

Anyway, I digress. Congrats again, turtle. Now I'm really curious as to what other names your wife is considering, though...

and i guess i've known it all along / the truth is, you have to be soft to be strong

You are not the only one. I thought somewhat jokingly, somewhat not, that others and Adults could read my thoughts. I created a pretty sophisticated system of counter-thought just in case. Turns out I was just a really bad liar with a tell. Around age 8 I realized this and did a complete 180 and used that tell to my advantage to frame my brothers. My parents didn't catch on until my mid-teens. It was SWEET!

^^ One more quality post from the desk of Ebby. ^^
