Hey
What do you think about the idea of delteding bad reputation points after 6 months or so. Im not sure if it would be hard to set up to do everyone automatically.
I made some mistakes when I was new, but I feel that I have learned my lesson and I havent done anything bad recently.
Its just a suggestion though, so thanks for hearing me out.

If people really want to help out their rep points, they should just spend some time in the genius bar, helping people out. That will kick your rep points up pretty quickly.

No, they're worth half, it just depends on who knocks you down.

A member who has a very high reputation might add 10 points to your rep for a positive feedback. A negative from the same member will knock you down 5.

So, if the people in good standing are hammering your reputation, and the people with little/no reputation overall are giving you positivies, you'll lose every time.

The point made with this (along with post counts) is that you should make any forums a yardstick of yourself.

Reputations sytem will not necessarily measure one's greatness (for all I know, macgeek2xxx may win nobel prize twenty years down the road.... heaven forbid, however, they do tell us if someone has been a 'tard, and 'tards shouldn't be selling their junk to us anyway.

My name isn't anonymous...

And now I have increased your rep by a small amount... one bad + one good equals a little good.

I think you started this thread at the wrong time, Butters.

Oh, and bb, Meltedbutter ain't in the thousand post clubhouse yet... so he can't see who gave him his rep... hence the anonymous

And it looks like you tried to give yourself several positives with a duplicate account.

(which have now been deleted)

I should knock you back fi'ty just for that!

Duplicate account? where? Don't you have to have a reputation to give points?

Multiple complimentary reputation hits within a few minutes + same IP address when no one else shares that IP address + referrer is windowsrookie + only 1 post which just happens to agree with something you said = all signs point to duplicate account.

Oh, I remeber. I referred my friend who has an ipod 5G. I think it was last year. He never got into the forum thing though. Sorry about that, those points wouldn't have counted anyway would they?

LOVE the new user title.
