Does anyone know what the return policy for the Apple retail stores is regarding iPods? I have an unopened iPod shuffle that I'd like to return, unfortunately I don't have the receipt. Would it be possible for me to return this, even if it is only for a store credit? Thanks for the advice...

To be honest I think you'd be able to get more money for selling an unopened iPod mini on eBay - these things are extremely rare.

Yeah, you'd get at least $100 more than you paid for it on ebay, people are desperate or so it seems, to get iPod minis.

It's been a while since Apple Stores sold minis - how long have you had it, anyway?

Regardless, you can return an item without a receipt, as long as it's within 14 days. There should be no restocking fee for an unopened item. They can just scan the serial number and they'll find your purchase in their computer, and will know the purchase date.

I want an iPod mini. I love the design of it...it's an icon.

Someday, when I'm inevitably rich and famous, I'd love to have a large collection of Apple stuff - all the major designs of the Jobs 2.0 era, for sure.

I'd be a bit of a stickler, though, because I'd require that everything be new and sealed (when I get it). I'm kinda obsessive compulsive like that.

If you are asking for a store credit instead of a refund, I believe they'd be pretty lenient, esp. if you explain the belated gift thing. Be honest, nice, and willing to work with them via a store credit, and you will most likely receive the same back from them.
