Whenever I use my iBook as a VNC client, something weird happens. As soon as you start the connection, you hear this weird high-pitched electrical noise coming from the iBook. Kind of like that of a CRT screen. No, it is not coming from the speakers, it is coming from (I think) the logic board. Whenever you shut down the VNC connection, the noise stops.
What causes this? Should I be concerned? You ask me for a hamburger. |

I get the same thing from my PowerBook whenever the Finder shows a preview of a QuickTime movie. No, I have no idea why, and neither did the Genius Bar.

It believe it goes away when you disable nap-mode in thr processor preference pane associated with the CHUD-tools. Still doesn't answer the question what it actually is though.
