Cheers was a great show, one of the reasons why it lasted 11 seasons. As for Alley, some people are just built differently than others. She was never skinny, and I'm betting it took her a lot of effort to keep the weight off in the early-mid 80s.

There's this babe from the first 1979 flick...apparently she died in 1989 from a heart attack.




And of course from the current movie, Lt. Uhura played by Zoe Saldana. Nice!
