This is a preemptive answer for people having trouble mounting SMB/windows drives on thier Tiger machines. After allot of messing around with my Fedora Linux server I discovered that the Security parameter in SWAT was setting itself to SHARE instead of USER. I never had any problems using SHARE with Panther, but could not get it to work with Tiger. By changing this setting to USER my OS X 10.4 laptop has not had any difficulty connecting. I don't know if anyone else is having the same trouble I was, but I thought this might help.

I have been having some problems when trying to connect using the network browser in finder. I have not narrowed it down yet but I am finding pressing cmd-k and entering the IP a bit more reliable at the mo.
OK, I have given up keeping this sig up to date. Lets just say I'm the guy that installs every latest version as soon as its available! |
