every night before i go to bed i go to system prefs and i turn the sleep mode bar down to 1 min on my PB so the glow of the screen doesnt keep me up. ive been noticing this for awhile but it never really concerned me but i notice after like 2-3 min of being asleep, the screen will flicker, like light up for a second and then go back black. now when i say light up i dont mean come outta sleep and go to the normal screen, it just lights up but will have the grey background. it only does it for a second if not less and im not overly concerned just curious. anybody know what this is???

Why don't you just close the powerbook?

Yontsey, do you just have the PB screen "asleep" with the computer still running? I do that on my iMac if I'm downloading a large file, but I haven't noticed that screen flicker.

Dont think so. When you enter sleep all connections to the internet are stopped.

That occasionally happened to me when I had a mouse attached and it was due to the mouse registering some movement and consequently waking the screen.

yeah i could see that happening but the screen wouldnt wake up. it was just a split second flash and like i said, just a grey screen type thing. you definatly dont see the desktop when it does it because for the last 3-4 days i watch it before i go to bed to see if i can determine what it is but i have no idea, ohwell, as long as it doesnt appear to be hurting anything doesnt matter right? haha
