Yes, it's true. Mississippi has banned sex toys. You can buy a gun with basically no background check there, but god forbid you buy something that the resembles your favorite porn star's ass. Quote:

When I was a kid, people who did wrong were punished, restricted, and forbidden. Now, when someone does wrong, all of the rest of us are punished, restricted, and forbidden... and the one who did the wrong is counselled and "understood" and fed ice cream. |

You know, when I first started typing this thread, it was kind of a joke, but as I went on, I realized this whole thing is fucking scary. How can you possibly outlaw something like this? How can we have a government that's corrupt and backwards enough to do things like this? Quote:

There's a very interesting book, BTW, by Jimmy Carter, who has written books about the importance of religion to him, and who is openly religious. The book is called Our Endangered Values, and he makes a very strong case there against mixing up religion and politics, and talks about how this and other recent developments (like the stronger partisanship) are hurting this country. iTMS has it as an audiobook. Very interesting. |

The whole sex toys being illegal thing is nothing new, and has been around for years. Every state in the country with these laws gets around these laws by marketing the items as "novelty toys".
It's not as big of a deal as people think, you can still buy your sex toys. To me it's just a giant waste of everyone's time to try and legislate how people spend time with themselves and their inanimate objects. If no one's getting hurt, let it go. Google is your frenemy. Caveat Emptor - Latin for tough titty I tend to interpret things in the way that's most hilarious to me |

You'd think Mississippi would worry about kids who are sexually abused before legislating what adults can do with their own body parts. But they don't.

So would this affect those little home-based "passion parties" that are all the rage with some women these days (the Dilware get-togethers, I call them)?
I've got an inside track/source on those events, and there's all kinds of crazy stuff being shown and sold there! Then again, maybe they're not that popular in some areas? |

And yes, she gets a lot of calls from women below the Mason-Dixon Line who want to organize them... and she has to tell them that the company cannot do so in some states because of local laws. She was actually detained in TX once, while traveling on business. She had her samples bag, and went through Dallas Intl Airport. She WAY exceeded the three item limit, so they pulled her aside for questioning. |

Now that is a little harsh don't you think. I have a better idea. If you recall this little bit from history. "A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." We set up base in California and through the Post Office we mail a box of four unique sex toys to every address in the south (Batteries included). Then to every address in every other state that voted for Bush. We need to be well-regulated and our arms shall be the pleasure of every Bush voter. Hell, I'll vote for more Bush. I was thinking of renting planes and just carpet bombing the south with these toys, but that might actually hurt someone. I would hate to be responsible for that. I actually wonder how many would get turned in; "Well, my box only had three in it" ...unused... Mile 1 |
