I'm pretty sure you can't hop off a roof and land on your ass without it really, really fucking hurting. Having a guy hanging on to speed up your descent didn't help, either.
But it wasn't nearly as bad as having your head eaten off! My god, that hamburger picnic skit! |

That said, the force with which they hit the ground would be greater if the weight of one of them was pushing down on the other. So, yeah, it would really fucking hurt... either way. |

I'm not saying it wouldn't hurt, but there was a table placed there to break the fall some. It just seems far less like a bunch of drunk college guys acting really dumb and more like a couple of wanna-be stunt doubles trying to show what they can do.

I have to admit to not having watched half of the linked videos, so apologies if this has been posted already.

Super-modern-Bible-Science
A layer of water in the clouds, oceans underground, no death but you die when you're 900... good stuff! I got through about 4 minutes before i had to stop... the most unbelievable part are the people in the audience, gazing wide-eyed as this "genius" speaks. Cheeseheads. ...into the light of a dark black night. |

Morons?
Moving right along, we have the Supermoto Amsterdam video... this reminds me of a short film produced by some French guy like 30 years ago where a guy takes a little sports car and literally drives it 100mph through the streets of Paris [edit: Found it! http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...gh+Paris&hl=en ] Enjoy. ...into the light of a dark black night. |

Dobbs: I'd never heard that... do you have a source? I'm not even sure we know what the distance is, given how many twists and turns. I suppose if someone is very familiar with Paris streets they could watch it, write down the streets he took then map it out for distnace. Otherwise....
And of course avg speed will be well below top speed, by definition. He's speeding up and slowing down throughout the whole 9 minutes. Anyway, just watch the road stripes and other visual references as the guy is going. You can tell he's way up there speed wise. Whether the audio is authentic, who knows. ...into the light of a dark black night. |

Dobbs is mostly right... There were radio pedestrians around the city at blind corners; the car had more than a driver in it; he reaches a little over 100 mph on the main road leading up to the arch, but his average is about 45 mph... It appears he is going faster than he is going because the camera is so low to the ground... if you google the video, there is a nice site with all of the details... also, do a search here... this video has come up before...

Sorry. I thought I was introducing something new but I guess I'm late to the game as usual with the "check this out" stuff. |
