I have two identical G-5 imacs (home and office); my home computer has no problem opening a movie file with Windows Media Player, but my office computer won't open up windows media player automatically, and instead quicktime loads, but it can't play the file. This typically happens, for example, if I watching a Netflix trailer; if I open Windows Media Player in advance, and then click on the movie link, all works fine, but if I don't do this on my office computer, Windows Media Player won't open up the file automatically. I looked at the preferences for the WMP and QT, but can't figure out how to solve this problem.

I would have to say the word Windows just makes it not want to work.
